SC ATE Spotlighted In National Science Foundation Congressional Budget
The South Carolina Advanced Technological Education Center of Excellence, headquartered at Florence-Darlington Technical College, has the eyes of the nation's lawmakers. The National Science Foundation (NSF), which funds the SC ATE's efforts to increase the number of engineering technology graduates, is spotlighting the SCATE in its Fiscal Year 08' budget request to congress.
SC ATE Director Elaine Craft says the NSF praised the SC ATE in a full color brochure given to lawmakers. Craft said, "NSF budget requestors pointed out that the ATE is enhancing the nation's high tech workforce by dramatically increasing first year student success and graduation rates."
