German Instructors Arrive For Exchange Program at FDTC

Eleven faculty and staff members from Florence-Darlington Technical College's sister college in Maniz, Germany arrived late last week for a two week stay and met with FDTC officials Friday, March 23, 2007, for an introduction to the College and spent the day observing classes and touring campuses. The German technical college visitors also took a tour of the Southeastern Institute of Manufacturing and Technology construction site.

After a weekend trip to Charleston, the group met the following Monday with South Carolina World Trade Center officials in Charleston before heading to the capital for more tours of state government agencies, primary schools and other technical colleges.

Later in the week, the group returned to Florence to visit an area hospital, local industry, the city of Florence and District one schools.

The group will return to Germany, April 4, 2007. FDTC will send a delegation of faculty and students to Germany this summer.
