Florence-Darlington Technical College Appoints New Faculty and Staff

Florence-Darlington Technical College has recently hired the following faculty and staff members.  Amanda Brown is the Administrative Specialist for Student Support Services.  Amanda received an Associate Degree from FDTC in Office Systems Technology.  Amanda’s past work experience include WIA Intake Specialist, Head Teller, Cash Vault Attendant, Customer Service Representative and Administrative Assistant at the Johnsonville State Bank.

Michael Collins joins the College’s Associate Degree of Nursing program.  He graduated from FDTC with an Associate Degree of Nursing.  He’s also earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of South Carolina and a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from Francis Marion University   Collins completed his Master’s degree in Nurse Education from the University of Phoenix.

Kenneth Knight has been appointed as a Trades Specialist IV for the Physical Plant and serves as a Jack of all Trades at FDTC’s Southeastern Institute of Manufacturing and Technology.  Knight had been working part time for the College in the Maintenance Department.

Nicholas Loudon is FDTC’s newest Physics Instructor.  The Indiana native earned received a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from Indiana State University and a Master’s degree from Ball State University in Physics.  He taught previously as a Physics instructor for Francis Marion University.

Dr. James A. Montgomery is the new dentist in the Dental program at the Health Sciences campus.   Dr. Montgomery earned a Bachelor of Science degree for Presbyterian College and his D-M-D from the Medical University of South Carolina.

His past work experiences include service in the United States Army as an Artillery Officer, President and General Practitioner and Specialist for Berkeley Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

Shara Northup has been hired full time as a Fiscal Technician II in the College’s Business Office.  She had worked the last five years part time as the Workforce Investment Act Billing Clerk for FDTC.  Northup earned an Associate of Science degree in Accounting from State University of New York.

James Simmons is the new Rapid Prototyping Technician at the Southeastern Institute of Manufacturing and Technology.

James previous work experiences include Equestrian Trainer for McCutchen Training Center, Server for Ruby Tuesday’s, Work-study and Equestrian Trainer at Clemson University,  Owner/Equestrian Trainer for Lone Eagle Stables and work-study for SIMT/FDTC.

Kaye Stone is the new Administrative Specialist for Technical and General Education.  Kaye received a BS degree from Francis Marion University in Sociology. Her past work experiences include Director of the WIA Program, Counselor and Placement Coordinator for FDTC, Office Clerk and Receptionist for Pee Dee Family Practice, Teller for Security Federal Bank, Summer Admissions Clerk for FDTC, Individual After-School Tutor and Teacher for New Prospect Christian School and Counselor/Career Specialist for FDTC’s WIA.
