National Academic Awards

Who's Who

Florence-Darlington Technical College participates in the annual selection of students to appear in Who's Who among Students in American Junior Colleges. Recipients of this award are second year students who have demonstrated exemplary leadership and Extensive participation in campus activities and maintain a minimum of a 3.5 grade point average. Outstanding students have been honored for their achievements in the Who's Who annual directory since it was first published in 1966.

National Collegiate Minority Leadership Awards

The United States Achievement Academy National Collegiate Minority Leadership Awards acknowledges the unique contributions of minority students who have been identified as outstanding students and leaders. Recipients of the Minority Student Leadership Award must maintain a minimum of a 3.0 grade point average, receive faculty recommendation and are customarily portrayed as dependable, responsible, and positive examples for the campus and community.

Collegiate USAA All-American Scholar Awards

The United States Achievement Academy Collegiate All-American Scholar Awards Program is designed to pay tribute to students for good grades and academic achievements. Recipients of this award must maintain a 3.3 grade point average, receive faculty recommendation and be a role model to the student body. This award is Florence-Darlington Technical College's ultimate symbol of appreciation for the nominees hard work.

National Collegiate Student Government Awards

The United States Achievement Academy National Collegiate Student Government Awards is designed to recognize the talent, ability, and hard work of outstanding student government members. Recipients must maintain a 3.0 grade point average and receive the recommendation of the Student Government Association Advisor. This award is given to those students nominated by faculty and staff that have not only achieved academic excellence, but have also shown exceptional leadership ability.

Phi Theta Kappa All-USA Academic Team Award

The National Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, the American Association of Community Colleges, and USA Today, recognize a select group of students who have drawn national and regional attention to the quality programming and emphasis on academic excellence which is provided by two-year colleges, for their "All-USA Academic Team". Recipients must maintain a 3.5 GPA or better and are nominated by Phi Theta Kappa advisors based on academic excellence, leadership ability and participation in College and community activities.

Outstanding Curriculum Awards

Florence-Darlington Technical recognizes students who have distinguished themselves through scholastic excellence in their academic discipline. These students also portray outstanding leadership ability through Extensive participation in school activities. Recipients of these awards must maintain a 3.5 grade point average and receive faculty recommendation from their respective curriculums.

Outstanding Student Clubs/ Organization Awards

Florence-Darlington Technical College recognizes students whom have distinguished themselves through exemplary service and participation in one of the College's Student Organizations/Clubs. Recipients must be nominated by Organization Advisors.

The Outstanding Student Leadership Award

The College's Outstanding Student Leadership Award is presented to the student who is nominated by faculty for exhibiting exceptional leadership, scholastic achievement, and campus involvement. This level of recognition is only bestowed to one student each year.   The recipient must also maintain a 3.0 grade point average or better to be considered for the award.
