Graduates of the Accounting program learn all the essentials necessary to gain entry-level jobs in accounting firms, banks, and financial offices of local retail businesses and industries. And, beyond this, graduates gain a foundation that will enable them to pursue a baccalaureate degree and the 150 credit hours leading to CPA certification. Salaries range from $18,000 - $35,000, depending upon experience.
This program uses classroom and laboratory experience to provide students with accounting skills necessary for a career opportunities such as general accounting, financial accounting, cost accounting assistants, accounts payable clerk, payroll clerk, accounts receivable clerk, and purchasing agent. A minimum grade of "C" is required in order to earn credit for each accounting course. Students may exempt ACC 111 & ACC 112 by earning a minimum grade of "C" on the exemption tests for each course, or by scoring 1000 on the SAT, including 500 on the math portion and 500 on the verbal portion of the test.
