Women in Welding
More and more women are entering the field of welding. Once a male dominated profession, the welding
industry is finding that women make excellent welders.
The "Women in Welding" program was started as a means of promoting welding to a large population of workers who may not have considered it as a suitable profession for women. But not only are there many women in the welding profession today, there have been women welding since World War II when they built the tanks, trucks, air planes, ships, etc. while the men were off fighting the war. The name "Women in Welding" was coined to promote women in a non-traditional field.
