Welding - Advanced Welding and Cutting Center

There are several programs to choose from:

One Year Diploma Program

This program provides the student with the principals, methods, techniques and skills required for entry level welding jobs. These skills will enable the student to produce structurally sound and quality welds. Employment opportunities are found in maintenance, construction, manufacturing, and their related fields. Some of the courses you will take are Gas Welding and Cutting, ARC Welding I & II, Pipe Fiting and Welding, and Inert Gas Welding I & II just to name a few. See lodging.

Advanced Certificate Program

This program provides the student with principles, methods, techniques, and skills required for entry level welding jobs. In the Certificate program, the English, Math, and Psychology have been replaced with Math for the Work Place. The Welding courses are similar to the Diploma courses - Gas Welding and Cutting, ARC Welding I & II, Pipe Fiting and Welding, and Inert Gas Welding I & II as well as others.

Women in Welding

FDTC offers a 160 hour Continuing Education program called Women in Welding. Some of the courses covered in this program are Math/Measuring (24hrs) Welding Shop Safety (6hrs) Blueprint reading/Welding symbols (14hrs) GMAW (MIG) Fundamentals (6hrs) Advanced GMAW (MIG) Plate Welding (110hrs).

ESAB School of Welding and Cutting Technology

The ESAB School of Welding and Cutting Technology Center is a fully air-conditioned facility with 60 individual welding booths with all up to date ESAB welding machines.  ESAB School of Welding and Cutting Technology offers short courses from 1 week (35 hours) to 4 weeks (140 hours). This enables a student to get the training he/she desires in as short a timeframe as possible.
