Types of Aid

Grants and Scholarships

You may receive Grant or Scholarship money as part of your financial aid award.  These are Federal, State and Private funds which do not have to be repaid, unless you completely withdraw from all your courses.  Your eligibility for Grants is determined from your FAFSA.  FDTC offers a variety of Scholarships based upon the students data (area of study, grade point average, etc.).  You may also apply for other scholarships in the community such as from churches, civic organizations and your place of employment. Work Study

The Federal Work Study program provides students with part-time employment.  The flexible hours allow you to work around your class schedule.  Learn more about Work Study at FDTC.

The Stafford Loan and Parent Plus Loan are federal loans awarded through the financial aid office.  The loans can be used to help cover education related expenses.  The loans do have to be repaid, however repayment can be deferred when the student is enrolled in six credit hours or more.
