
This course is an apprenticeship with Florence County EMS and has been designed to streamline the EMT Curriculum into a compact and efficient schedule. At the end of the course, students will have an understanding of:
- The Foundations of EMS to include EMS history, EMT well-being, Medical/Legal, Medical Terminology, Anatomy & Physiology, Shock, and Life-Span Development
- Airway Management
- Patient Assessment
- Medical Emergencies
- Trauma Emergencies
- Special Populations such as pediatrics, geriatrics, and special challenges
- Operations such as HazMat, Vehicle Extrication, and Terrorism response
Admission Requirements: SC Drivers License, GED/Highschool Diploma, Successful completion of EMT Pre-assessment Exam
Class Time/Work Schedule: Class/work time will be on a rotation per the employer
