LEXINGTON, S.C. (May 4, 2019) – On Friday night, the Florence-Darlington Technical College Stingers defeated USC Salkehatchie 9-4 in the Region X Tournament.
The Tech Stingers took the lead in the first inning and never looked backed as they accumulated nine runs on nine hits. The team is now 41-11 overall this season.
Daniel Rutherford won on the mound. Rutherford struck out one, walked a batter and allowed four hits and four runs.
Mark Engel led the way at the plate as he was 2-for-5 with three runs. Patrick Baggett, Ryan Moore, Cameron Dean, Grant Bodison, Danny Grillo, Damond Nixon and Hunter Baker all had hits.
The Tech Stingers will take on Louisburg at 1 p.m. today in Lexington, South Carolina.
