
FLORENCE, S.C. (March 19, 2019) – The Florence-Darlington Technical College Lady Stingers dominated their two games in the Fastpitch Dreams Tournament at the North Myrtle Beach Park and Sports Complex on Monday, beating New Jersey’s Mercer County Community College 8-0 and 10-2.
The Lady Stingers won the first game in five innings as they held Mercer Community College scoreless. Courtney Watson was the winning pitcher as she was on the mound for three innings. Watson gave up no runs and struck out a player.
Tori Alexander hit an inside-the-park homerun in the fourth inning of the first game. Baylee Elms was 2-for-2 with two runs scored, and Jada Parsons went 2-for-2.
In Game No. 2, the Tech Stingers kept the bats swinging as they defeated Mercer County Community College 10-2. Jenna Winningham won on the mound. Winningham pitched for four innings, giving up only three hits. She struck out two batters and walked two more.
Kaylee McMilliams went 3-for-3 with a walk and two RBI. Kristina Lee was 3-for-4 at the plate with an RBI.
The Lady Stingers are now 12-6.
On Friday and Saturday, March 29-30, the Lady Stingers will travel to Fayetteville, North Carolina to play Fayetteville Tech. Friday’s game will begin at 3 p.m., and Saturday’s doubleheader will get underway at 11 a.m.
