FDTC's Ninth Inning Rally Tops Southeastern CC 9-6

FLORENCE, S.C. (February 20, 2019) – In a ninth inning rally on Tuesday, the Florence-Darlington Technical College Stingers topped Southeastern Community College 9-6 while on the road.

Heading into the ninth inning, the game was tied 6-6, but the Tech Stingers were able to place three runs on the board and hold Southeastern Community College scoreless, resulting in the ninth win of the 2019 season.

Cameron Clark won the game on the mound as he pitched for an inning. He allowed zero hits, walks and runs while pitching. Nathan Barolet earned the save by holding Southeastern Community College at bay in the final inning. Barolet recorded two strikeouts.

Throughout the game, the Tech Stingers amassed nine hits. Mark Engel was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI. Edward Landron went 2-for-5 at the plate with a double and a run. Patrick Baggett, Grant Bodison, Alex Stennett, Damond Nixon and Billy Flohr recorded hits as well.

Up next on the schedule for the Tech Stingers is the USC Sumter Tournament in Sumter, South Carolina. On Saturday, February 23, the Tech Stingers will play Potomac St. at 10 a.m. The Tech Stingers will open Sunday by playing Potomac St. at 10 a.m. and conclude the weekend by taking on Walters St. at 12:30 p.m.
