
FLORENCE, S.C. (April 22, 2019) – The Florence-Darlington Technical College Lady Stingers shutout Patrick Henry Community College 7-0 and 8-0 at Old Cormell Field on Saturday.
Courtney Watson earned the victory on the mound in the opening game. She struck out eight batters and didn’t walk a single player throughout her time on the mound. Watson did give up five hits.
Jada Parsons went 2-for-3 at the plate with one RBI. Baylee Elms went 2-for-4 with a sacrifice, two RBI and a home run.
Watson picked up her second win of the weekend in the second game. She struck out two players and gave up a hit. Once again, Watson didn’t walk a batter. Jenna Winningham entered the game in relief in the fifth inning. Winningham finished out the game.
Lillie Baumbach led the way for the Lady Stingers at the plate as she went 2-for-2 with a stolen base and two RBI. Anna Michael went 2-for-3 with a walk off home run to end the game in the fifth inning.
The Lady Stingers are 21-7 overall and 12-4 in Region 10.
On Friday and Saturday, April 26-27, the Lady Stingers will travel to play Paul D. Camp Community College in a three-game series. Friday’s game will begin at 4 p.m., and the doubleheader on Saturday will get underway at 11 a.m.
