Lady Stingers Win 19th Consecutive Game

FLORENCE, S.C. (March 23, 2018) – The Lady Stingers extended Florence-Darlington Technical College’s all-time consecutive game winning record to 19 victories before falling to Southeastern in the second game of the doubleheader on Thursday at Old Cormell Field.

The historic winning streak continued as the No. 12 nationally ranked Lady Stingers defeated Southeastern Community College 2-0 to record their 19th win in a row. Marissa Tyndall earned the win on the mound after pitching the entire game. Tyndall struck out six batters and allowed one hit and five walks.

Brice Brown was 1-2 at the plate, while Shelby Cox was 2-3 with one run batted in.

The impressive winning streak came to an end in the second game of the afternoon as the Lady Stingers fell 14-6 to Southeastern Community College. Tyndall suffered the loss. She struck out five batters, but 14 hits and two walks were allowed.

The leading hitters in the game included Tori Alexander who was 4-4 and Baylee Elms who was 3-3 with a homerun.

Prior to Thursday’s second game, the last time that the Lady Stingers lost dates back to February 3 of the 2018 season.

The Lady Stingers will travel to play Wake Tech later today at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. The Lady Stingers will return to Old Cormell Field on Saturday, March 24 as they host Bryant & Stratton at 12 p.m. and 2 p.m.
