FLORENCE, S.C. (May 1, 2018) – Mark Moore, a stroke survivor and author who is set to speak at Florence-Darlington Technical College’s (FDTC’s) 2018 Commencement, will hold a free book reading and signing at the Southeastern Institute of Manufacturing and Technology (SiMT) on Wednesday, May 9 at 7:30 p.m.
Moore is a business leader, philanthropist and stroke survivor. The nationally known motivational speaker will read from his book, A Stroke of Faith: A Stroke Survivor's Story of a Second Chance at Living a Life of Significance during the free event at the SiMT, located on the campus of FDTC. The Virginia native will also be signing his newly published book following the event.
Moore was a healthy and successful entrepreneur and business leader, having raised $2 billion in multiple IPOs, including USA Mobile, Premiere Paging, Conxus, and Mindshift Technologies. He was serving as CEO of Segovia, Inc., a leading provider of services to the US Defense Department, when he suffered a stroke in 2007. Remarkably, Moore was able to complete a 5K charity run just one year after his stroke, a testament to his faith in God’s ability to help overcome the many obstacles that everyone experiences in recovering from a major stroke.
If you work with a student, youth, church or other groups and would like group seating at the event, please contact Tressa Gardner, at Tressa.Gardner@simt.com or 843-413-2737.
FDTC’s 2018 Commencement will get underway at the Florence Center on Thursday, May 10 at 6:30 p.m. Moore will address the graduates and give them encouraging words of wisdom as they depart from the college.
