Stingers End Regular Season With 11th Win In A Row

 

FLORENCE, S.C. (April 26, 2018) – Just days after clinching the No. 1 seed in the upcoming Region 10 Tournament, the Florence-Darlington Technical College Stingers won the final game of the 2018 regular season, beating Southeastern Community College 17-2.

The road victory on Wednesday marked the 11th consecutive win for the Tech Stingers. The Tech Stingers scored 13 of their 17 runs in the first two innings of the game. Three more runs were added to the scoreboard in the fourth inning, and the final run of the game was scored in the sixth inning. Throughout the seven-inning game, the Stingers had 13 hits.

Nash Jamison earned the victory on the mound as he pitched for an inning, striking out two players.

Cross Holfert led the Stingers at the plate as he hit a three-run homerun. Gabe Austin was 2-for-3 with two RBI and two runs. Rafi Vazquez was 2-for-4 with two RBI and three runs. Josh Gregory hit a two-run homerun. Florence’s Grayson Cottingham was 2-for-5 with two RBI. Connor Pet had two RBI, and Latta’s Jackson Williams was 1-for-1 with two RBI and two runs.

The Tech Stingers finished out the regular season with a 41-11 winning record.

On Saturday, May 5, the Tech Stingers will play the winner of Louisburg vs. USC Salkehatchie in the Region 10 Tournament in Lexington, South Carolina.
