
FLORENCE, S.C. (April 5, 2019) – The Florence-Darlington Technical College Stingers absolutely dominated Thursday’s game at Old Cormell Field as they defeated Fayetteville Tech 12-1.
The Tech Stingers took an early lead in the second inning and never looked back as they held Fayetteville Tech to only one run and two hits.
Jermaine Vanheyningen won the game on the mound. He pitched for 4.2 innings, striking out five batters and allowing only a hit and a run. Timmy Felder, Nathan Barolet and Nat Turner came from the bullpen to pitch throughout the game as well.
Hunter Baker was 2-for-3 with two walks, two runs and an RBI. Ceejay Belton and Michael Elijah each had a double. Patrick Baggett, Ryan Moore, Edward Landron and Billy Flohr had singles.
The Tech Stingers improve to 29-9 and are on a six-game winning streak.
On Saturday and Sunday, April 6-7, the Tech Stingers will host USC Lancaster in a four-game series at Sparrow Stadium located at Francis Marion University. Both doubleheaders will begin at 1 p.m. each day.
