
FLORENCE, S.C. (April 4, 2018) – The Florence-Darlington Technical College Stingers traveled to Lexington, South Carolina on Wednesday, and the team dominated to beat USC Sumter 11-1.
Rafi Vazquez won the game on the mound as he pitched for two of the seven innings. Vazquez struck out three batters and allowed only one hit.
Vazquez didn’t only perform well on the mound, but he was one of the leading hitters at the plate on Wednesday as well. He was 3-for-3 with a homerun, three RBI and two runs. Josh Gregory was 3-for-3 with a homerun, three RBI and three runs. Connor Pett was 2-for-3 at the plate with a double, two RBI and two runs.
The Tech Stingers are now 30-10 overall. The team continues to receive votes to crack the top-20 in the NJCAA DI Baseball Rankings.
On Saturday, April 7 and Sunday, April 8, the Tech Stingers will travel to Lancaster, South Carolina to play Region 10 rival, USC Lancaster at 1 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. on both days.
