
FLORENCE, S.C. (April 9, 2018) – The Florence-Darlington Technical College Stingers lost to USC Lancaster 4-3 on Sunday, but the team rallied back to win 17-10 in the second game of the doubleheader.
Following Saturday’s washed out matchups, the Tech Stingers fell to USC Lancaster 4-3 in the first game on Sunday in Lancaster, South Carolina. Mullins’ Weston Rogers suffered the loss on the mound. Michael Elijah was 1-for-2 with a double and two runs scored. Harrison Hawkins added two RBI.
In the second game on Sunday, Rafi Vazquez earned the win after pitching two innings.
Once again, it was Elijah leading the way for the Stingers at the plate as he was 4-for-6 with a double and a homerun. Vazquez was 3-for-4 with a homerun. Latta’s Jackson Williams and Conway’s Reid Hardwick each had two hits, including a homerun.
The Tech Stingers are now 31-11 overall and 11-3 in Region 10.
On Saturday, April 14 and Sunday, April 15, the Tech Stingers will host Region 10 rival Louisburg at 1 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. at Sparrow Stadium located on the campus of Francis Marion University.
