FLORENCE, S.C. (July 30,2018) – The Florence-Darlington Technical College (FDTC) Athletics Department will host the 2018 Stinger Athletics Golf Tournament at the Country Club of South Carolina on Saturday, August 18.
Proceeds from the tournament will go towards supporting the college’s baseball and softball teams. Entering the 2018 season, the baseball team was coming off its first appearance in the JUCO World Series. The Tech Stingers finished out the 2018 season with a winning 43-13 record. The softball team also had a strong season as they earned a 40-10 record.
The golf tournament will feature four-man teams with a captain’s choice format. To enter the tournament, there is a $240 fee for a team or $60 fee a player. Prizes will be awarded to the top-four teams with the lowest score at the end of the tournament.
Hole sponsorships are also available for $250. Each hole sponsor will have signage at the tee box on one of the 18 holes.
Festivities will kick-off with a light lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. A putting contest with prizes will get underway at 12 p.m. There is a fee of $10 to enter the putting contest.
