Testing Students with Special Needs or Disabilities

Special testing accommodations may be provided for individuals with identifiable special needs. With acceptable documentation, the Assessment Center will accommodate students with impediments such as vision, hearing, speech, mobility, and learning. If you require assistance with testing, contact the Assessment Center at (843) 661-8352.

Florence-Darlington Technical College offers an array of academic support and services for students with disabilities which include:

  1. Tutorial Assistance
  2. Sign Language Interpreters
  3. Note-Taking Assistance
  4. Oral Testing
  5. Assistive Technology
  6. Closed-Captioned Television
  7. Accommodating Learning Environments
  8. Voice Recorders

Students requesting assistance must self-identify, provide an IEP/504 or current medical documentation. Students must notify ADA Student Disability Services of any special accommodation needs at least 30 working days prior to the first day of class. This notification will help ensure quality, availability, and provision of the services needed in a timely manner.
