TRiO Programs have existed on the campus of Florence-Darlington Technical College for more than 30 years. The name TRiO was coined by the US Department of Education to describe three initial programs established under the Economic Opportunity Act of 1964 and the Higher Education Act of 1965: Upward Bound, Talent Search, and Student Support Services. Florence-Darlington Technical College currently has two of these program on its campus.
