Florence-Darlington Technical College’s Auto Body Repair Certificate program helps prepare students with basic collision repair training. Graduates typically begin careers at regional OEM dealerships, franchised repair facilities, and independent body repair shops. Some of the position titles include tear down and repair technicians, painters, and estimate writers. The program offers training in the areas of industry safety, tooling and equipment, dent repair, basic MIG welding techniques, painting techniques, frame repair, structural repairs, detailing, and estimating. Classes and labs allow students to learn subjects related to panel repair and replacement, spray gun setup and techniques, welding, mechanical systems, and refinishing of the car.
