Program overview
The Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) program is an exciting, five-semester journey that kicks off every fall and prepares you for a vital role in healthcare. In your first semester, you'll build foundational knowledge in essential lab skills - everything from lab safety to mastering the microscope. Semesters two and three dive deep into the specialized areas of laboratory medicine. You'll explore fascinating topics like Hematology, Clinical Chemistry, Microbiology, Parasitology, Urinalysis, Body Fluids, Immunology, and Immunohematology. In semesters four and five, the classroom becomes the real world. You'll step into clinical rotations, gaining hands-on experience in hospitals for 24 hours a week, applying your knowledge and sharpening your skills in actual patient care settings. From classroom to clinic, this program is designed to equip you with the knowledge and experience to become a key player in diagnostic healthcare.
