60-81 Florence-Darlington Technical College Educational Foundation

Policy Description

The Florence-Darlington Technical College Educational Foundation exists as a non- profit organization established to solicit and acquire funds and property to promote and support the College's educational needs, programs, and services. All activities of the Florence-Darlington Technical College Educational Foundation shall be related to the stated purposes of the College.

The Florence-Darlington Technical College Educational Foundation shall maintain by- laws outlining its membership, officers, and operating procedures. Membership must include chairperson of the Florence-Darlington County Commission for Technical Education or his/her designee and the College President. The Executive Director of the Foundation has been assigned by the College President, as part of his/her duties, to assist the Florence-Darlington Technical College Educational Foundation in carrying out its work for the College.

Gifts received and funds raised may be held by the Florence-Darlington Technical College Educational Foundation or may be transferred to the College. Periodic reports, including financial statements, on behalf of the Florence-Darlington Technical College Educational Foundation shall be presented to the Florence-Darlington County Commission for Technical Education.

The Educational Foundation is established as a college administrative unit to solicit gifts for the College, to conduct various fund-raising activities, and to sponsor or assist in sponsoring activities in support of the College. The Educational Foundation shall serve as a clearinghouse for all gifts to the Florence-Darlington Technical College Educational Foundation and/or College.
