Policy Description

The Area Commission recognizes the need for the college to relate to various commissions, counties, and agencies at state, regional, and national levels. These groups provide facilities, financial assistance, and information which are beneficial and offer the means by which college programs can be continuously developed and improved.

Other organizations also exist at the local, state, regional and national levels for the purpose of promoting the development and welfare of two-year post-secondary institutions, their various programs and services.

College personnel are encouraged to establish and maintain active affiliation both through institutional and individual membership as deemed appropriate and suitable to the goals and purposes of the college.

Representative affiliation should include, but not be limited to, American Association of Community Colleges, Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges, South Carolina Technical Education Association, and other appropriate associations.
