40-05 Live Work Projects

Policy Description

Live work projects are defined as any commercial type work or service rendered either by instructors or students of the college for a private individual or organization other than Florence-Darlington Technical College. It is realized that live work is an essential and necessary part of the experiences structured into a well-planned training program. Actual work under normal shop conditions is essential in the development of operating skills, craftsmanship, and the ability to make valid judgments and decisions associated with the trade. The live work project experiences are designed to strengthen the program and are in no manner or means to become a dominant factor in the program. It must be emphasized that the scope of such work shall not become a threat to private business or industry in the area.
