41-22 Maximum Number of Students Per Class
Procedure Description
I. PURPOSE
To provide guidelines governing the maximum number of students in a class.
II. PROCEDURE
Because the College offers such a wide variety of programs with differing requirements by various accrediting bodies, as well as shop/lab/clinic environments, it is impossible to establish a college-wide class size. Consequently, maximum class sizes are established by each division for the various disciplines and approved by the VPAA. These vary in size from 10-60, with a rule of thumb for lecture-discussion-type classes at a maximum of 30-35 students.
