I. PURPOSE
To establish guidelines for hiring faculty personnel.
II. Procedure
The institution employs competent faculty members qualified to accomplish the mission and goals of the institution. When determining acceptable qualifications of faculty, FDTC gives primary consideration to the highest earned degree in the discipline in accord with the guidelines of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) and other accrediting bodies, such as the National League of Nursing. If there is a discrepancy between the SACSCOC and an accrediting body, FDTC will subscribe to the higher qualification requested. FDTC also considers competence, effectiveness, and capacity, including, as appropriate, undergraduate and graduate degrees, related work experiences in the field, professional licensure and certifications, honors and awards, continuous documented excellence in teaching, or other demonstrated competencies and achievements that contribute to effective teaching and student learning outcomes
