Procedure

1. Residency Classification:

Fees are determined by the county of residence at the time of application. Florence, Darlington, and Marion County legal residents will pay in-county fees. Rules for determining county residency classification are determined by the same procedure for determining state residency classification, which are outlined by the SC Commission on Higher Education Chapter 62 Article V. Determination of Rates of Tuition and Fees.

2. Inquiries and Appeals

A. Inquiries regarding residency requirements and determinations should be directed to the Registrar.

B. Applicants or students may request a review of their residency classification by completing the appropriate residency application for review and submission of requested supporting documentation. The Registrar completes residency classification reviews and makes decisions in accordance with guidance and regulations given by the South Carolina Commission on Higher Education. Neither the primary residency official nor appellate official(s) may waive the provisions of the Statute governing residency for tuition and fee purposes.
