FDTC names Dr. Debbie Cheek as Interim President

The Florence-Darlington County Commission for Technical Education has named Dr. Debbie Cheek as the Interim President of Florence-Darlington Technical College.

“We are pleased to name Dr. Debbie Cheek as Interim President of FDTC, while the Commission reviews candidates for a long-term interim lead,” Area Commission Chairman Clint Moore said. “Dr. Cheek has been with the college since 2019, serving as Vice President of Finance & Administration since 2022. The Commission is confident in her ability to lead the college during this period.”

“I am very excited to continue the great work that we have done over the past few years here at FDTC,” Dr. Cheek said. “I am truly appreciative of the Area Commission’s trust in me to guide this great college in this time of transition. I will make sure that we continue to prioritize our students first and work with our community partners to provide them the best workforce possible.”

After the Area Commission appoints a long-term interim President, it will immediately begin a search for a permanent President.
