We are so excited to welcome you into the Stinger family! The goal of the Dual Enrollment Program is to give high schoolers the opportunity to earn college credit while still in high school. We strive to make the enrollment process as smooth as possible and to provide you with any help and attention you may need throughout your time here.

New Students
STEP 1: Apply Online
High school Juniors and Seniors must apply online and select the General Technology Program.

STEP 2: Submit High School Transcript
General Education Pathway:
- Submit your high school transcript to DualEnrollment@fdtc.edu.
- Students with an overall high school GPA of 3.0 or higher will be awarded waiver scores for general education (non-math) courses and will not need to take the Accuplacer test.
- Students who earn a B or better in Algebra 1-2 and Geometry will also be awarded math waiver scores for entry into college-level math courses.
Technical Pathway:
- Submit high school transcript to DualEnrollment@fdtc.edu.
- Students with an overall high school GPA of 2.5 or higher will be awarded waiver scores for technical education courses and will not need to take the Accuplacer test.
STEP 3: Complete Forms

Email completed forms to DualEnrollment@fdtc.edu.
STEP 5: Register for classes by completing the Registration Form. If your high school submits a fall or spring registration roster, please contact your high school's Dual Enrollment or Early College counselor.
STEP 6: After being accepted to FDTC please download the FDTC Student Handbook.

How can I benefit from Dual Enrollment courses?
- Students can earn college credit while meeting high school graduation requirements.
- Students will gain valuable college preparation.
- Students may explore areas of interest before declaring a college major.
- Most dual enrollment courses are weighted the same as AP/IB courses.

How do I qualify?
- Be a high school Junior or Senior
- Parent approval
- School approval
- SAT, ACT, Accuplacer scores or High School Transcript
- Acceptance to FDTC
- Proof of South Carolina residency
- Students who require special testing or accommodations should contact the Student Disability Specialist at 843.661.8124.

What will my classes be like?
- You can choose online or lecture classes
- Your lecture classes will be taught at FDTC
- Online courses will require you to come to FDTC for exams and tests
- Courses are taught in 8-week, 12-week, and 15-week sessions
- Rigorous coursework and a college experience designed to prepare high school students for the expectations of college

Will my classes transfer to another college?

What about tuition, fees, and books?
- Students who enroll in at least 6 credit hours may be eligible for South Carolina Lottery Tuition Assistance. These funds cover part of tuition cost for FDTC courses taught online or on the FDTC campus.
- All students are responsible for obtaining the required textbooks and supplies for all FDTC courses.
