What is a First-Generation College Student?
A first-generation college student is defined as someone who, along with their siblings, is the first
in their family to attend college. Meaning:
1. Your parents have not earned a Bachelor’s Degree, or
2. You were born in another country, and your parents did not earn a United States Bachelor’s
Degree.
