Program overview

Whether driving heavy trucks or tractor trailers, truck drivers transport goods from one location to another, often across city and county lines, or between states. Punctuality and the ability to travel frequently are necessary to a successful career in the truck driving industry. Combining classroom lecture and practice driving, the course places special emphasis on safety, making correct and safe turns, proper pre-trip and post-trip inspections, and training behind the wheel. Have you ever dreamed of life on the open road? Or would you prefer a career that keeps you a little closer to home? Either way, Florence-Darlington Technical College is ready to help get you there. The trucking industry has continued to grow over the past several years, and with that growth the demand for more qualified drivers has also increased.
