Quality Enhancement Plan
Advising in Motion
We’re excited to announce Advising in Motion (AIM), FDTC’s new Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP), designed to support student success by enhancing advising across our college community.
What is the Quality Enhancement Plan?
As part of the reaffirmation process, the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) requires institutions to develop a QEP that reflects a commitment to student success. AIM is our five-year strategic initiative focused on increasing student retention by strengthening our advising process to provide students with integrated elements such as personalized guidance, clearer academic pathways, and increased support throughout their academic journey.
Why are QEPs Important?
Accreditation Requirement: The QEP is a mandatory element of the SACSCOC reaffirmation of accreditation process.
Focus on Student Learning & Success: It's a carefully designed plan focusing on a specific issue related to improving student learning outcomes and/or student success. The QEP helps institutions enhance overall quality and effectiveness by addressing areas crucial to student growth and accomplishment.
Institutional Improvement: The QEP requires institutions to identify key issues through assessment, implement initiatives to address them, and demonstrate their capacity for sustained improvement.
Engaging Stakeholders: Developing and implementing the QEP involves broad participation from faculty, staff, students, and other stakeholders.
Demonstrating Commitment to Quality: The QEP is a tangible demonstration of an institution's commitment to continuous quality enhancement, a core philosophy of SACSCOC accreditation.
Driving Innovation: The QEP encourages institutions to be creative and forward-looking in designing engaging learning experiences for students.
