FDTC Testing Center Earns National Certification

Florence-Darlington Technical College’s (FDTC) Testing Center has officially become the third National College Testing Association (NCTA) Certified Testing Center in South Carolina - a distinguished recognition that underscores the college’s commitment to maintaining the highest standards in testing integrity, security, and service.

The NCTA certification is a mark of excellence in the testing industry. It signifies that a testing center has undergone a rigorous and comprehensive evaluation of its policies, procedures, and operations. This process ensures that the institution meets or exceeds nationally recognized “best practices” for test administration.

"This national certification affirms our commitment to excellence and integrity in serving students and our community," Dr. Travis P. Gleaton, Vice President of Student Services, said. "Our Testing Center plays a vital role in supporting student achievement and access, and this recognition reflects the dedication of our staff to maintaining the highest professional standards in testing and assessment."

NCTA-certified centers demonstrate mastery of best practices in the field and serve as models for other institutions. The certification also provides assurance to prospective distance learning students, vendors, and outside testing entities that the Testing Center operates under nationally accepted standards for all types of testing. To date, more than 200 centers across the United States and Canada have earned this designation since 2010.

The Florence-Darlington Technical College Testing Center is located on the Main Campus in Building 100, Room 112. Placement testing, such as the Next-Generation Accuplacer, is available without appointment on the main campus, while other testing services may require scheduling.

Available Testing Services Include:

• Entrance Exams: Next-Generation Accuplacer, TEAS (Tests of Essential Academic Skills)
• Credit-by-Exam: CLEP (College-Level Examination Program), DSST (DANTES Subject Standardized Tests)
• Certification and Licensure: Metro Testing for the Department of Pesticide Regulation
• Pre-Employment Screening: WorkKeys assessments for workforce readiness
• Proctoring Services: Available for external colleges and organizations

Through its newly earned NCTA certification, the FDTC Testing Center joins a select group of testing sites across North America recognized for their excellence, reliability, and commitment to professional growth.
