McCall’s Supply Donates $8,762 to Support FDTC HVAC Student Scholarships

McCall’s Supply, Inc., a family-owned HVAC distributor headquartered in Johnsonville, South Carolina, has donated $8,762 to Florence-Darlington Technical College (FDTC) to provide scholarships for students enrolled in the Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) program during the upcoming summer semester.

McCall’s Supply identified a growing technician shortage as a pressing issue for its dealer network and the HVAC industry as a whole.

“We consider our dealers family too. When they struggle, we struggle,” Raymond Rollins, Marketing Director for McCall’s Supply, said. “The biggest hurdle they face right now is finding qualified technicians. Without enough skilled talent coming through the pipeline, it’s hard for them to grow their businesses in a region where demand keeps rising.”

In business for more than 55 years with 19 distribution centers across South Carolina, North Carolina, and Georgia, McCall’s Supply has remained a family-owned company since its founding in 1969 and continues to prioritize technician workforce development by investing in the next generation of HVAC professionals.

The donation, raised through McCall’s inaugural charity golf tournament at the newly reopened Wellman Club in Johnsonville, directly addresses a critical funding gap for students.

“Funding was already available for students enrolling in Fall and Spring sessions,” Sheryl Love, Executive Director of the FDTC Educational Foundation, said. “However, there was no funding available for summer programs. We took that as an opportunity to make an impact.”

The contribution will allow more students to continue their HVAC studies without interruption, helping meet the increasing regional demand for skilled technicians.

FDTC’s HVAC program provides hands-on training in heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems, preparing students for in-demand careers with local employers across the region.
