More than 40 organizations and individuals participate in Feed Hope Food Drive

Heritage Digital held its third annual Feed Hope Food Drive, a campaign designed to reduce food insecurity at Florence-Darlington Tech. Each year, the food drive has seen tremendous growth. This year alone, more than $3,000 in monetary donations, 20 cases of water, food items, and personal hygiene products from more than 40 organizations and individuals were delivered to FDTC.

"This donation is a powerful reminder to what happens when a community invests in student success: Our students are strengthened, supported, and empowered to thrive,” Paula McLaughlin, FDTC Director of Student Life and Career Development, said.

The Feed Hope initiative directly supports student achievement by helping remove barriers to education. For many FDTC students, who attend classes across six campuses in three counties with no cafeteria access, the Stinger’s Nest provides a lifeline.

“When I was the FDTC Student Government Association President, we hosted the Thanksgiving Box of Blessings each year,” Heritage Digital Brand Strategy Director and FDTC Alumni, Letia James said. “During that time, some students told us they didn’t know what they would have done without those boxes. I never forgot that.”

James continued, that's why the Feed Hope Drive initiative was launched in 2023. The Feed Hope Drive provides not only nonperishable food and beverage items, but also essential personal hygiene products.
