Select the topics to explore just a few of the many reasons for choosing community college.

Because of their unique relationship with local businesses, community colleges can offer special programs to students with unique opportunities and learning experiences. FDTC's partnership with Caterpillar and their ThinkBIG program is a great example of these partnerships. While enrolled in the program, students learn to work on full-size caterpillar equipment provided by caterpillar.

When compared to four year institutions, the cost to attend community colleges is MUCH more affordable. The average cost of in-state tuition for four year institutions in South Carolina is $16,189 per year. The average cost of in-state tuition for two year community colleges is $4,486 per year. How much money could you save by going to community college?

Community Colleges are creating tons of ways to obtain a degree that are convenient for you. At a community college like FDTC you have options to attend classes at multiple campuses, during the day or night, during the week or weekends, or entirely online. Whatever your situation, FDTC probably has an opportunity waiting for you.

We know that every student has their own challenges to learning something new. That's why community colleges like FDTC keep class sizes small - so you can get the personal attention and assistance that you need to complete your program at your pace.
